The 27th Indie Memphis Film Festival is gearing up to grace the screen from November 14th - 17th, 2024, followed by encore screenings on November 18th & 19th.

In our ongoing commitment to nurturing a vibrant and equitable independent film community while ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organization, Indie Memphis will introduce temporary strategic adjustments to present a more streamlined, yet still exciting festival this year.

Rest assured, this year's festival promises to deliver the same level of excitement, featuring some of the best films from festivals around the world with a spotlight on exceptional talent from the Memphis film community. Submissions from Memphis filmmakers remain free of charge and are now open.

This year’s festival will focus on two main venues: Crosstown Theater and Malco Studio on the Square, with encores at Malco Paradiso. While out-of-town jurors and traditional jury awards will be put on hold for now, festival attendees will take center stage in 2024 as we shine a spotlight on audience awards. The 2024 festival is all about celebrating our audience and the incredible films that we'll experience together.

Filmmakers are at the core of our organization and festival, and we take immense pride in the festival being a fulfilling experience. Because of the pause on jury awards and a more streamlined festival, including travel, Indie Memphis has made the difficult but conscientious decision not to accept national or international submissions for the 2024 festival only. However, please note that we eagerly anticipate welcoming submissions in 2025. Films made in 2023 or 2024 will be eligible to submit then.

As we position ourselves as a successful organization that honors Memphis, community, filmmakers, audiences, and movies for years to come, we invite you to join us this fall for another unforgettable festival experience.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, KIMEL FRYER

“I'm very excited about our 27th rendition of the Indie Memphis Film Festival! It's always a thrill to see how the festival creates a great surge of energy, bringing our community together as we bond over cinema -- and the staff and I are working tirelessly to maintain this spirit. However, Indie Memphis is more than just a festival. That's why we're making temporary strategic changes aimed at ensuring sustainability across all five of our impactful programs. While some aspects of the festival will be different this year, most of these changes are short-term as we position Indie Memphis for success in the years to come. Thank you for being such great supporters, and I hope to see you soon!”
