The Indie Memphis Film Festival presented by Duncan-Williams, Inc. and Duncan Williams Asset Management celebrates its 25th anniversary October 19 - 24 at the Halloran Centre, Crosstown TheaterCircuit PlayhousePlayhouse on the SquareMalco Studio on the Square and online!

The Indie Memphis Film Festival brings a range of independent features, documentaries, and short films to Memphis from all corners of the world. We are inspired by the social and artistic history of Memphis, as a majority Black city in the South. While seeking to redefine prestige, we celebrate new, original films and value rediscovery within film history.

The goal of the festival is to embody a truly inclusive space — where conversations about new art and film naturally dominate and conversations about how to achieve diversity are unnecessary because it is already a truly diverse space. We screen and discuss films that are artistically and intellectually challenging, as well as eccentric, humorous, and fun. No matter your preference, we guarantee we have something for everyone to enjoy!

NOTE ON COVID-19 POLICY: ALL policies and festival plans are subject to change. Indie Memphis abides by the COVID-19 policies of its venue partners and Shelby County Health Department. While COVID-19 vaccines and masking are not required at participating festival venues, we STRONGLY encourage our attendees to be vaccinated and mask while indoors. Read more about COVID-19 protocols and several options to experience the festival, as we continue navigating the ongoing pandemic HERE.

More Than Just Films

Live Music

The festival connects filmmakers and audiences to the live music scene that pulses through Memphis. We are one of the only film festivals in the world to feature live music in the theater before every screening.

Parties

Each year, the festival literally rolls out the red carpet for celebrations of film, music, and community. Our parties bridge the gap between filmmakers and audiences, connecting each other during one-of-a-kind experiences!

Panels

In addition to screenings and post-film Q&As, the festival includes free IndieTalks panels available to the public -- featuring filmmakers, journalists and industry professionals offering insights on some of the most relevant topics in filmmaking today. Check out what conversations you can be a part of HERE!
