Indie Memphis Makes Beifuss' "Second Ten" of 2008

Indie Memphis docs: Okay, maybe I’m cheating, but this year’s improved Indie Memphis Film Festival screened so many excellent documentaries it would be unfair to name just one. The standouts were Margaret Brown’s intimate behind-the-scenes look at the racially segregated Mobile, Ala., Mardi Gras, “The Order of Myths”; Greg Kohs’ tragic/comic tale of a Milwaukee Neil Diamond impersonator, “Song Sung Blue”; and Memphian Brett Hanover’s unclassifiable, unforgettable in-depth character study of a self-styled Indian chief and possible pet rabbit slaughterer, “Bunnyland.”
